Everyone’s on hype today because its 12.12.12. Some celebrate it for a cause while some celebrate it with love and unity. Earlier today, I attended a very unique celebration. Unique as I described it, as it is my first time to attend a friend’s wedding and their son’s christening being conducted all at the same time. At first I was like is it possible? diba sukob pag ganon pag closely related? Then my mom told me that It was okay, It will only be sukob if magkapatid yung ikakasal all at the same time. Ahh so ganon pala yun.
The mass for the wedding started at exactly 3:40pm. The entourage and the bride have walked down the aisle of Pateros Catholic Church while heartwarming songs were being sung by their wedding singer. My friend Monique, I could say looks lovely and beautiful in her long white wedding gown. She and Erickson Lugtu have made a lovely couple.
Their simple wedding lasted for an hour. It was followed by the christening of their 5mos. old child. He is so cute. Some of our friends have became his godmother and godfather. Honestly, I felt bad for having found out late that I was one of the Godmother. 🙁 I should’ve sent him my blessings though. But on the second thought, I can give him my blessings through my prayers and my presence.
It was also at the end of the mass that the groom have asked me to hosts on the reception because one of our gay friends, who’s been a good host wasn’t able to come. But since, the church was about a few meters away from the reception area we have taken about an hour to get there, and I have been replaced by their relative (thank God, I wasn’t prepared for that on-the-spot-hosting) I might collapsed because of stage fright. hehe
THE RECEPTION
So here, in the picture at the back the star of the celebration Mr. and Mrs. Erickson Lugtu, and (front L-R) Bride’s 2go classmates and friends, Mao, Richard, Rem, Your’s Truly and the lovely host Moises. See, we’re really having a good time. Especially, It’s the only time that we have seen each other again.
A CATCH FROM THE CATCH
After catching bride’s bouquet for the ladies. Men have to go through a “CATCHING GAME” where everyone will put their best foot forward to catch the one and only ‘garter’ being thrown by the groom. Funny, as while everyone was holding back a friend of ours jumped up high just to get the ‘garter’. Everyone laugh so did I, because even he, was surprised with what he did. He said he thought that our two guy friends will also jump so what he did was jump and he was the only one aiming high. (kitang kita mo talaga sya). But that’s not the only catch. There was also “A Catch” from “The Catch”: the girl who gets the bouquet and the boy who gets the garter will do what the bride and groom will do. It started with a holding hands, to simple akbay, to a kiss and to putting on a garter from a girl’s ankle into a girl’s thigh using your teeth. Believe me it’s fun but It’s soo AWKWARD especially for the girl since both of them were ‘strangers‘ from each other. But I LAUD HER for being such a good sport. YOU GO GIRL.
To end, I would like to Congratulate MR. and MRS. LUGTU for a wonderful 12.12.12 wedding and Welcome Baby Castiel to the Christian World. 🙂
