Ever since I started with the social media detox last year, I’ve learned to use my time wisely. So, whenever I have free time, I always try to learn new things. I am believer that if we continuously learn, we grow as a person.
Here are the top 4 skills or knowledge I’ve learned recently:
(1) I’ve learned how to make advance edits on Windows Movie Maker. I curate videos whenever there’s concert and assignments on my freelance gig. I know the basic yes, but learning to navigate its advance features will help me produce good quality videos for me and my client’s audience.
(2) I’ve learned how design thinking works. I always want to enroll in a design thinking class but the one being offered here in my country is quite expensive so, I always postponed it. I’m happy that there are free classes in Skillshare and exercises too that can help me incorporate to my work and online business!
(3) I’ve learned how to stop the clutter from my mind. I overthink a lot and in the end it makes me stressful. With the help of “How to Clear Your Mind and Organize Your Life” class I trained myself to control some of the negative thoughts that are trying to enter my mind and replace it with the positive one. It takes a lot of practice but if you constantly do it. Your mind can easily get the hang of it and you can switch your thoughts easily.
(4) I’ve learned how to navigate illustrator. I rarely use illustrator after I resigned from my day job way back in 2010 and as time passes by, my knowledge got stock to the basic. With the change on its features, I easily got confused. To help me understand the new features, I reviewed illustrator again and practice my skills by creating some printable documents like calendars, journals, and worksheets. I will share it with you guys as soon as I improved it.
I’m taking weekly classes on Skillshare, from creative to leadership. There’s a lot to learn on their website that you cannot run out of topics to study. It’s like a knowledge sharing bank but with real professionals. Like it’s their story / their skills to share to you.
