My mom will always be a part of myself. Without her, I feel incomplete, it’s like puto without dinuguan, kare-kare without bagoong, and itlog na maalat without kamatis. (Ginutom kayo no?) Seriously, being an only child, would give you at first an impression of me being a daddy’s girl (I still am). But I grew up with my mom. She is the one who takes good care of me, teaches me things, scolds me for being lazy at times, and are always there for me no matter what happens. I really LOVE her for being “THE BEST MOM”.
She is also the one who will exchange all her appointments (naks! you mean “lakad” right?) just to make sure that she’ll be working as a full-time Mom, Listener, Bestfriend, and a Wife to me and my dad. Which sometimes, I can tell that she has no time to pamper herself. That’s why, as a gift to her birthday last May 10 and a Mother’s day Celebration we treated my mom yesterday at Glorietta.
Actually, we’re supposed to have dinner the night of my mom’s birthday but my dad arrived at around 8:30pm and my mom were already tired and asleep. So my dad and I have decided to go the next day instead. I have plans on that day, but because God is Good, all my plans were cancelled, because the my cousins (on my father’s side) have changed their mind.
We arrived at Glorietta 4 at around 5:30pm and there was still so much sunlight outside. We roam around the mall and hit Dad’s Restaurant (Mom’s choice) but they were jam packed. In our frustration and starvation, we move to the nearest restaurant (Dad’s choice) named “Tony Roma’s”.
It’s our first time there, and all I have in mind was “it was indeed a great choice”. The place is so classic, a country-sophisticated inspired restaurant that filled with wide array of “Crisp, fresh salads, mouthwatering char-grilled steaks and delicious, custom-topped seafood” and unique art pieces. Feeling tuloy namin we were a Royal Family from a first class country. hahaha
While waiting for our order, their accommodating staff will serve you a french bread, a butter and a drink of your choice ( iced tea is all bottomless)! This alone made our stomach happy! It was fresh and tasty. For starters, we had their BBQ Half Chicken with a vegetable and rice as side dishes, Pork chops served with corn as side dishes. Looking at other customer’s plate, I saw that everything was ginormous! my little tummy cannot even store everything said my mind. But… But… But… as soon as our food was served in our table, all I can see were diamonds, stars, and angels. The Royal family were totally pampered! HAPPINESS!!!
Though it was quite expensive (as for my rating scale of expensive), the quality of experience “Tony Roma’s” have brought to my family especially to my Mom was totally memorable and worth a penny. So, if you’re a budget-conscious like me who only knows carinderia ni “Ate Ganda”. I guess it’s okay that sometimes we splurge ourselves to an EXCELLENT restaurant like “Tony Roma’s”.
Meet the “Royal Family”
