Some say that those people born in the 90s’ loves to cram on things. GUILTY! Late evening yesterday, my friends and I talked about where we were heading for today’s trip, we have prepared a list but none of us can say which one to prioritized. So, to solve our dilemma, we have decided to load our internet to search the top tourist spots in Cebu. Finally, we have come up with the following itineraries:
First stop, The Philippine’s Taoist Temple located at Beverly Hills Subdivision in Cebu is a must see for worshipers and non-worshipers. As for me, who haven’t gone into any Temples in my life, I find this beautiful and sacred. You can take amazing pictures of its multi-tiered and multi-hued attraction because the place is not crowded (ganoon talaga nila binibigyang importansya yung templo nila), despite it, being a tourist destination.
Going Up the hill is very tiring since the king is very hyper on that day. So, we stayed at one of the spacious balconies beside the temple and the souvenir shop for a while to take a water break. Astonished by the place, we roam around to check the temple’s gallery and take pictures of ourselves. This picture of us three was very memorable (pinagalitan pa kami) because we were delighted to see ourselves being captured by a timered-camera. Actually, capturing ourselves together in a single shot without someone who’s going to take picture was always a challenge for us, so when we were together we tried to be resourceful to have a beautiful shot of us three. And this I think was one of the perfect shot, that’s why to our delight we didn’t notice that we were laughing hardly and loudly na pala. My advice: do not make noise when you were near the temple.
I am a believer of a wishing well’s European folklore, describing these wells to grant any spoken wish provided that you have to throw a single penny after you have given your wish. “The idea that a wish would be granted came from the idea that water housed deities or had been placed there as a gift from the gods, since water was a source of life and often a scarce commodity.” Hence, when I saw that there was a big well at the top-floor of the temple, I took the chance to say my aspirations.
To see is to believe: the entrance to the temple caught my eye like bigtime, they have a replica of the Great Wall of China here!!! 🙂 Add to it, our signature poses.
From Taoist to Catholics, Our next stop were the two most famous churches in Cebu, the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral and the Sto. Niño Church. It was our culture na yata talaga as Filipinos to always drop-by at Churches of the place that we’ve been touring at. 🙂
the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral
the Sto. Niño Church
Of course, the Cebu adventure will not be complete if you don’t have a picture with the Magellan’s Cross. (yan ang isa sa magsisilbing katunayan na nasa Cebu ka talaga! :))
